Conversation about A Shadow of a Shadow between artist William Kentridge and exhibition co-curator Tarek Abou El Fetouh

Join us for a conversation organised in conjunction with the exhibition William Kentridge: A Shadow of a Shadow,  a survey of Kentridge’s work in theatre, opera, and performance art. This talk will explore his four-decade-long career, including his collaborations with local theatre groups and world-renowned opera houses.

This unique opportunity offers a behind-the-scenes look at the objects and artworks on display in the exhibition. Kentridge will reflect on his artistic process, particularly his use of shadow, puppetry, and animation, and how these mediums have allowed him to address complex social, political, and economic realities in South Africa and beyond.

The conversation will precede the exhibition tour.
